Capital B Secures €7.6M From Adam Back for New Bitcoin Purchase

Prominent Bitcoin advocate Adam Back has contributed €7.6 million ($8.8 million) to Capital B, a Euronext Growth-listed firm that identifies itself as Europe’s inaugural bitcoin treasury company.

The enterprise revealed on Wednesday that these funds will be allocated toward additional bitcoin purchases. Adam Back serves as the CEO of the bitcoin infrastructure firm Blockstream and stands as one of the most prominent and recognizable figures in the industry.

This news follows Capital B’s announcement last week regarding a €21 million ($24 million) private placement backed by TOBAM, an asset manager, alongside Blockstream’s Adam Back.

“The proceeds of the Private Placement will be used primarily to strengthen Capital B’s balance sheet through the accumulation of bitcoin as a long-term reserve asset,” the company noted in an official statement.

“This capital increase is a key step in implementing the company’s Bitcoin Treasury Company strategy, focused on increasing the number of bitcoin per share on a fully diluted basis over time.”

The organization further explained that this placement will finance the acquisition of 376 extra bitcoins, elevating its potential reserves to 3,521 coins, up from its existing inventory of 3,145.

Data from Bitcoin Treasuries ranks Capital B as the 26th largest publicly traded bitcoin treasury globally, holding 3,145 bitcoins valued at $242 million based on a current bitcoin price of $76,959.

Capital B accumulated the bulk of these holdings via multiple fundraising campaigns conducted during the initial half of 2026.

Back in May, the company secured 192 coins for €13 million following the completion of three separate capital raises.

Capital B is working to expand its bitcoin holdings as various other treasuries actively seek capital to speed up their purchasing activity.

For instance, Genius Group—an artificial intelligence-driven education company listed on the NYSE—revealed last week that it plans to establish concurrent AI and bitcoin treasuries totaling $1.6 billion, following an earlier sale of its complete bitcoin reserves to settle $8.5 million in liabilities.

The Bitcoin treasury business model has faced challenges since last year when the premier cryptocurrency experienced a downturn in price.

Consequently, several sector participants have been forced to liquidate their assets, including the largest corporate holder of bitcoin, Nasdaq-listed Strategy.
