Capital B makes largest bitcoin acquisition of 2026 with 376 coins

European bitcoin treasury Capital B has revealed a new purchase of 376 coins, marking its largest acquisition of 2026. This announcement comes just a week after the company shared that Blockstream chief executive officer Adam Back invested in the firm.

Listed on Euronext Growth, the company reported on Tuesday that its total holdings now stand at 3,521 bitcoins. According to Bitcoin Treasuries data, these reserves are valued at more than $277 million at current prices, making Capital B the 25th largest publicly traded bitcoin treasury globally.

The company disclosed that this latest purchase cost €25.3 million, which equates to over $29 million.

Last week, Capital B stated that prominent bitcoin figure Adam Back—who leads bitcoin infrastructure provider Blockstream—put €7.6 million ($8.8 million) into the company to support its acquisition strategy.

Previously, in August, the firm announced it had secured €21 million ($24 million) through a private placement supported by both Back and asset manager TOBAM.

Following the announcement, the bitcoin treasury’s stock dipped 2% on Tuesday.

Capital B accumulated the majority of its bitcoin reserves via several fundraising efforts during the first half of 2026.

Back in May, the company purchased 192 coins for €13 million following the completion of three capital raises.

Self-described as “Europe’s first Bitcoin treasury company,” Capital B is actively expanding its holdings as other treasuries work to raise capital and speed up their own purchases.

According to its website, Capital B ultimately aims to hold 210,000 bitcoins. The company states, “Our objective is simple: accumulate 1% of Bitcoin’s total supply by 2033.”

Digital asset treasuries gained widespread popularity in 2025 as numerous publicly traded companies sought to replicate the approach of Nasdaq-listed Strategy (previously known as MicroStrategy), which began accumulating bitcoin in 2025.

During that time, hundreds of publicly listed firms began acquiring bitcoin—and in many cases, other cryptocurrencies—to elevate their stock prices. However, as bitcoin’s price began to decline, several of these companies found themselves underwater or forced to liquidate portions of their holdings.

Meanwhile, Strategy, the leading corporate holder of the cryptocurrency, has reduced its purchasing pace this year. Instead, the firm has shifted focus toward strengthening its cash reserves and buying back its own shares amid falling stock prices.
