Castle, the firm behind an automated bitcoin financial stack designed for enterprises, announced it is making its platform available to individual users. This expansion brings its high-yield offering to personal accounts alongside a first-of-its-kind feature: the ability for customers to receive dividend income in bitcoin at a customized ratio of their choosing.
This yield is generated through STRC, Strategy’s perpetual preferred stock, which was integrated by Castle earlier this year. STRC currently offers a 12% annual dividend distributed on a semi-monthly basis.
As noted in a statement released on Tuesday, investors can opt to receive their payouts entirely in cash, entirely in bitcoin, or in any split between the two. The company reported that the majority of Castle users choose a middle ground, utilizing cash to cover operating expenses while the remaining balance automatically compounds into bitcoin with each payout cycle.
“Investors have long faced a choice between earning steady yield and holding bitcoin. Castle eliminates that trade-off,” stated co-founder and CTO João Almeida. “By enabling a portion of dividend income to be automatically converted into bitcoin, so customers get both cash flow and long-term upside.”
The platform’s main value proposition is consolidation, uniting operating cash, fixed income, and bitcoin accumulation into a single platform to eliminate the need to move funds between traditional banks, onramps, and brokerages. Designed with automation as a priority, the system allows users to establish a strategy just once, after which the platform handles execution.
Previously, Castle catered strictly to business entities, including restaurants, gyms, churches, accounting firms, e-commerce shops, auto dealers, SaaS companies, real estate businesses, and non-profits. The decision to expand into personal accounts was driven by requests from these very business clients.
“Feedback we heard over and over from business owners was: ‘I love this stack — when can I use it personally?’” said co-founder and CEO Stephen Cole. “Today we’re answering that. The same automated bitcoin-powered financial stack that runs their company’s balance sheet can now run their personal finances.”
Established by Cole and Almeida, Castle receives backing from Boost VC and Winklevoss Capital. Additional details regarding the company’s product are available here.
