Even though they function as digital dollars, stablecoins can be surprisingly complicated to handle. Because they operate across multiple crypto networks that require different digital wallets, the friction often discourages both crypto beginners and experienced bitcoiners.
Fortunately, Bitcoin software provider Breez has introduced a remedy: applications built using the Breez SDK can now enable users holding a bitcoin balance to receive stablecoin payments originating from more than 30 distinct networks.
The Breez SDK serves as a developer toolkit that allows applications to integrate bitcoin payments seamlessly without requiring them to build the underlying infrastructure from scratch. It manages wallet creation, transactions, and Lightning Network payments. Instead of operating nodes or handling liquidity, developers can implement bitcoin functionality using only a few lines of code.
According to an announcement made by Breez on Monday, the updated feature works when the receiver selects the sender’s network and specifies an amount. The SDK then creates a deposit address, displays the expected payout, and lets the sender complete the payment from their standard wallet as usual.
In the background, Flashnet converts the payment, ultimately depositing the funds directly into the receiver’s non-custodial wallet as bitcoin, or as dollars if the stable balance feature is enabled.
This release follows Breez’s introduction of the send USDT/USDC feature in June, enabling a single balance powered by Breez to transfer stablecoins in both directions across nearly any network.
This enhancement represents the latest development in a sequence of user experience upgrades, which also includes Passkey Login, instant Cash App onboarding, and Stable Balance.
Breez has continuously integrated new capabilities to make bitcoin applications resemble conventional fintech platforms. These additions include passkey logins that eliminate the need for seed phrases, instant onboarding processes, dollar-denominated balances, and cross-chain stablecoin transactions. Released in August, Glow serves as Breez’s reference app to demonstrate the capabilities of its SDK.
Additionally, Breez revealed in July that it partnered with Turnkey to allow developers to incorporate non-custodial Bitcoin into applications using wallets managed on their own servers. This addresses a custody challenge that has historically prevented many major consumer platforms from adopting Bitcoin.
