Capital B Secures €21M from Adam Back and TOBAM for Bitcoin Purchases

Capital B, a Euronext Growth-listed firm presenting itself as Europe’s premier bitcoin treasury company, has successfully secured €21 million ($24 million) through a private placement. The funding round received backing from asset manager TOBAM and Blockstream’s Adam Back, with the capital earmarked for acquiring an estimated 270 additional bitcoins, which would elevate its total holdings to approximately 3,415 BTC.

Announced on Friday, the transaction involved the sale of 36,219,070 shares priced at €0.58 per share, representing a 6.45% discount compared to Wednesday’s closing price.

Following transaction expenses and fees, Capital B anticipates net proceeds of approximately €19.9 million.

Data from Bitcoin Treasuries ranks Capital B as the 27th largest publicly traded bitcoin treasury globally, holding 3,145 bitcoins valued at $245 million based on a bitcoin price of $77,960.

Positioning itself as Europe’s inaugural bitcoin treasury, Capital B accumulated the bulk of these reserves via multiple fundraising campaigns conducted throughout the opening half of 2026.

During May, the firm purchased 192 coins for €13 million following the completion of three separate capital raises.

This move by Capital B coincides with wider fundraising efforts among corporate treasuries seeking to ramp up acquisitions. Earlier in the week, NYSE-listed artificial intelligence education firm Genius Group disclosed plans to establish dual AI and bitcoin treasuries valued at a combined $1.6 billion, following an earlier sale of its entire bitcoin reserves to clear $8.5 million in debt.

Bitcoin treasury operations have encountered challenges since the leading cryptocurrency’s price declined in 2025. Consequently, several corporate entities within the sector have been forced to liquidate portions of their reserves, including Strategy, the largest corporate holder of bitcoin listed on the Nasdaq.
