Corporate bitcoin treasuries are actively accumulating the digital asset once again.
On Monday, Strategy—the preeminent corporate holder of bitcoin—revealed it acquired 1,665 coins last week for a total of $142.7 million. This marks the firm’s second consecutive purchase following a brief pause.
A Securities and Exchange Commission filing from the Nasdaq-listed enterprise also notes that it repurchased $152 million of its preferred stock, STRC. Consequently, Strategy’s total bitcoin holdings now stand at 847,666 coins, valued at $70.5 billion.
Meanwhile, Strive, the fifth largest bitcoin treasury, reported that it acquired 1,107 BTC last week for $94.5 million. This purchase elevates the company’s total reserves to 27,462 coins.
Both entities continue to accumulate bitcoin despite recent pressures on the corporate treasury model. Prominent holders such as Strategy, Satsuma, Smarter Web Company, Sequans, Nakamoto, and Empery Digital have all liquidated portions of their bitcoin holdings this year to service debt, support operations, or fund buybacks. Concurrently, other firms have collapsed or shifted their focus toward AI infrastructure amid plunging share prices.
Over the past year, Strategy’s stock (MSTR) has dropped by more than 50%, while shares of Strive (ASST) have fallen over 30% in the same timeframe.
Nevertheless, representatives from Strategy and Strive maintain that it is business as usual and express confidence in a future market recovery.
Matt Cole, CEO of Strive, has repeatedly emphasized that his company carries no debt, has no margin requirements, and holds zero encumbered bitcoin—describing the balance sheet as resilient against market volatility.
Strategy CEO Phong Le has similarly defended his firm’s previous bitcoin sales this year. He asserted that those transactions resulted in a “bullet-proof balance sheet” and insisted it was the “right trade at the time.”
Additionally, the software firm announced plans last week to distribute daily dividends to investors across four preferred stock offerings: STRF, STRC, STRK, and STRD.
Recently, the price of bitcoin hovered near $83,409, marking a 3% decline over the course of the week.
